A miner factory in the United States. That was the first thing Wright Wang, sales and marketing director at MicroBT, put in front of the room at Mining Disrupt Miami in June 2024.

Wang told the audience he is a chip designer by training. He said he had known MicroBT's founder for almost 20 years, from their days building chips for cell phones, and joined the WhatsMiner maker after working on its first chip. These days, he said, his job is to hear what customers need.

What American customers asked for three or four years earlier was a manufacturing site in the US. Wang said he and a partner spent close to two years finding one and bringing MicroBT's process into it. In his words: Finally, I think we are the first one who have manufacturers in the US. MicroBT did the same in Thailand, he said, for three manufacturing sites in all.

The next request was for new cooling. Wang said he went to Shell's center in Shanghai to talk to the designers of its immersion fluid, and came away with Shell S3X. Partners then took miners apart and soaked the parts in the oil, and MicroBT set up a lab for long-term tests. After three years, he said, the company was confident in its immersion machines.

Hydro cooling, borrowed from computer servers, followed. MicroBT showed it first in Pennsylvania as a heat recycling pilot, built into a rack. Wang said the rack shape had carried through three generations, and made a promise to operators: So we will just commit, we will not change the shape.

He also talked about heat. MicroBT, he said, was raising the outlet temperature of its hydro machines step by step, because hotter water is easier to use for greenhouses, fish farming and heating buildings. The company leaves those projects to partners such as HECO and keeps its own focus on the miner. One customer in the north, he said, runs MicroBT hydro systems at over 30 megawatts on a single site.

Wang said MicroBT also brought back an online shop, ran free public repair trainings in the US, and planned a customer survey for the second half of 2024. His summary of the approach: treat everything as an investment, not a trade.

When this session was recorded, Bitcoin traded at $61,272. On October 16, 2026, it was $82,531.
